Mridangam, well known as the primary rhythmic instrument in Carnatic music is taught using syllables called Konnakol ( voice percussion) with different permutations and combinations by exploring further benefitting drummers, instrumentalists and singers for having an elective study on the subject. Conservatory, having strong percussive department helps the Carnatic students by exchanging and exploring their knowledge in the rhythmic area of world music.
